About the League

The League for Dance Schools is a long-running national invitational inter-school medallist team competition for Ballroom and Latin. Schools build teams across the season and come together for area events, culminating in a major finals weekend traditionally held in Blackpool at the Norbreck Castle Hotel.

Typical team sections

  • Juveniles (under 12)
  • Juniors (under 16)
  • Adults (16 and over)
  • Over 35s
  • All Ladies

Many schools enter multiple teams. Exact entry rules, eligibility and calendars are set by the League — please confirm details with your teacher or the League organisers.

Dress regulations

Correct dress helps young dancers feel confident and properly prepared on the floor.

Official League dress regulations will be published here shortly. Until then, please follow guidance from your school principal and the League’s current published rules.
