Flared heel (IDS)
The classic flared International Dance Shoes heel. Broadest tip of the competition range and a strong all-rounder for Latin, ballroom and social dancing when you want dependable balance.
At Blackpool Dance Store we stock International Dance Shoes with a genuine choice of heel shapes and heights. Because the shoes are made in the UK, many styles can be ordered on more than one heel — so you can match stability, look and dance style rather than settling for a single factory default.
Heel height is measured from the middle of the heel when viewed from the side (not from the very back of the heel tip).
Not every heel is available on every style. Always choose from the heel options shown on the product page.
The classic flared International Dance Shoes heel. Broadest tip of the competition range and a strong all-rounder for Latin, ballroom and social dancing when you want dependable balance.
A slim Latin heel developed with competitive dancers in mind. The tip sits further under the arch for a long, sleek line — popular when you want height with a refined silhouette.
A tapered ballroom option. The tip is set a little further back than a Latin slim heel to support balance through heel turns and closed work.
The finest tip we offer on ladies’ Latin and social shoes. Best suited to dancers who are already comfortable on a narrow heel and want a fine, tango-inspired look.
Junior, Cuban and Heather options favour a broader base and lower height — ideal for younger dancers, teaching and long practice sessions.
A gently flared shape inspired by Argentine tango. Sits between Ultra Slim and the classic flared heel — elegant, with a little extra confidence on the floor.
Typically 1.5″ or 2″ Latin heights. Choose for the balance of height and tip size that suits your Latin work.
Contra, Tango, Gibson and related shapes — pick for height, lip and the surface area you prefer in ballroom and smooth.
